The history of the Congregational Churches in America dates back to when the Pilgrim Fathers sailed from their homes in England on the Mayflower, and landed at Plymouth in 1620.
The pilgrims came to America in order that they might worship God and rule themselves as they thought best. The emphasis of the church is on devotion to Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and an absence of ecclesiastical authority from above is a hallmark of the Congregational Church.
Here at First Congregational Church, we try to preserve our heritage while working to build God's kingdom today. Our worship services are a blend of the contemporary and the traditional. Please join us as we strive to be "modern day Pilgrims".
